FIFA coach of the year 2010 - Jose Mourinho


The man who brought the big thophy of Europe to Estádio do Dragão in 2004 after Porto won this thophy last time in 1987 and also brought the highest honour of EU clubs to San Siro last year after 45 years without winning. Mourinho, Son of a Portuguese international goalkeeper, enjoyed a modest playing career from 1980 to 1987, before deciding to try his hand at the tactical side of the game.



After spells working as an assistant manager and a youth team coach in the early 1990s, he became an interpreter at Barcelona, he gradually grew into the role of assistant coach, first alongside Bobby Robson and then Louis van Gaal. When he took charge of Porto in 2002, he had less than two years’ experience as a first-team coach in Portuguese football to his name. With the winning of Primeira Liga, Taça de Portugal, and UEFA Cup in 2003 makes many people around the world then focus on him.



But the legend wouldn't stop, he led Porto to win the greatest prize at Germany after the big win over Monaco. After successful year he moved himself to the bridge of England, Chelsea. The Special One still made his honour in the first year of EPL by winning the league 1st and 2nd year at London. Mourinho surprisingly left Chelsea on 20 September 2007, but he left as the most successful manager in Chelsea's history by wining six thophies.



On 2 June 2008, Mourinho was appointed to San Siro. He didn't take too long to make the legend, he found the big cup of Italy in first year. Shortly after that, in second year he proved that he is the special one, Inter Milan was tripple champion after the winning Serie A, Coppa Italia and UEFA Champions League. This perfect form caused him to win FIFA Ballon d'Or Best Coach of the year 2010.



After these successful stories, he turned to Spain with hopefully bringing the past superb confident to Real Madrid. With the 1st year at the Santiago Bernabéu, he is now won his first trophy in Spanish football as Real Madrid defeated Barcelona 1–0 in the Copa del Rey final held at the Mestalla in Valencia ending Real Madrid's eighteen-year-long cup drought.
