German Champion 2011

After the unsucessful for long time, this season Borussia Dortmund make the best performance happen. The club had been eight years without finishing in the top three, and nine years without a title. This year, 2011, Youngster team makes surprise after beating Frankfurt into second division with a 3-1 victory at the final round of Bundesliga.

Who is the key player for Dortmund this season?

3 Dortmund stars shine this season including

1. MARIO GOTZE

The 18 years old star was hailed by Matthias Sammer as one of the best talents Germany has ever produced. He made incredible strides this year. he has the composure of a player several years his senior.

When Shinji Kagawa was ruled out for the second half of the season, pundits speculated as to whether BVB would collapse. Gotze stepped into the playmaker's shoes, however, as Dortmund stormed to the title two weeks early. Gotze played an integral role in attack; his perform of 15 assists is impressive, but he was involved in countless other goals, too.

2. MATS HUMMELS

The Bundesliga's best defender in the spring of 2010 has been continued progressing throughout the season. Alongside Neven Subotic, the centre-back has contributed to a defensive record level with the Bundesliga's all-time fewest goals conceded in a season.

Defensively, Hummels needs little introduction: his man-marking ability and positional sense are outstanding. But in addition to his role at the back, the 22-year old is also the first man in Dortmund's attack. He has only assisted one goal, but was only two or three passes removed from many, many and many more.

3. NURI SAHIN

Many doubted him when he said he could play at Bastian Schweinsteiger's level last August, but Sahin went on to out-class the Bayern midfielder twice this season. A naturally elegant player, the Turkey international slotted perfectly into Jurgen Klopp's plans, and blossomed into a world class box-to-box midfielder.

Sahin was without a doubt the Bundesliga's best player in the first half of the season, and while he has come back down to Earth in the last few months, his class has been affirmed with his departure for Real Madrid. Dortmund will sorely miss him next year.
